Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our wallpaper installation services in Portland.

Can you source the wallpaper, or should I bring my own?

Both options work. We can source wallpaper through our network of trusted suppliers and help you select the right material for your space — grasscloth, silk, commercial vinyl, custom murals, or anything in between. If you have already purchased your wallpaper, we will review the product before the job starts to make sure it is compatible with your walls and install conditions.

How long does installation take?

Most residential rooms are finished within a single day. Whole-home projects, commercial spaces, or jobs requiring extra wall preparation may take several days. We always provide a clear timeline during the free consultation based on your square footage, pattern complexity, and site conditions — no surprises.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Kelly Custom Walls is fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the state of Oregon. We carry comprehensive general liability insurance and can provide certificates of insurance (COI) on request — typically required by property managers, general contractors, and commercial facilities.

What kinds of commercial projects have you handled?

We have completed large-scale installations in hotels, apartment complexes, office buildings, and retail spaces across the Portland metro area — including projects exceeding 5,000 square feet. We offer volume pricing, fast-track crews for tight deadlines, and a full compliance package: COI, W9, and OSHA documentation ready for general contractors and property managers.

Which cities and neighborhoods are in your service area?

We cover the full Portland metropolitan area: Beaverton, Hillsboro, Gresham, Lake Oswego, Tigard, Tualatin, Oregon City, Aloha, McMinnville, and Vancouver, WA. If your location is not listed, reach out and we will confirm availability — we travel regularly for the right project.

Will you remove my existing wallpaper before installing new?

Yes — removal is available as a standalone service or as part of a full installation project. We use steam techniques and specialized tools to strip old wallpaper cleanly without harming the wall surface, then handle surface repair and priming before the new material goes up. You get a smooth, properly prepared wall, not just a quick cover-up.

What wallpaper materials and styles can you install?

We work with the full range: traditional paper, vinyl, pre-pasted, peel-and-stick, grasscloth, silk, fabric-backed, commercial Type II vinyl, custom murals, and specialty textured wallpapers. Our installers have hands-on experience with residential and commercial-grade materials from all major manufacturers and can advise on the best fit for your space.

My home is in Vancouver, WA — is that too far?

Not at all. We cross the Columbia River regularly for projects throughout Vancouver, including Hazel Dell, Salmon Creek, and Camas. Older Vancouver homes often need mold-resistant primers and careful plaster prep — our team handles the full process from surface preparation to final installation. I'm in Gresham — can you take on my project?

Absolutely. We handle residential and commercial wallpaper projects throughout Gresham, including Rockwood and Pleasant Valley. Many homes in the area have older walls that need smoothing or patching before installation — that prep work is part of what we do, not an afterthought. See our Gresham service page.

We have a new build in Hillsboro — are you familiar with the area?

Yes, Hillsboro is a regular part of our schedule. We work on new construction in Tanasbourne and throughout Washington County, as well as older homes near downtown Hillsboro. For commercial clients, we also handle large-format commercial vinyl for high-rises and multi-unit buildings. View our Hillsboro service page.

How quickly can you schedule a consultation in Beaverton?

Beaverton is one of our most active service areas, so we can usually book a consultation within a few days. We install wallpaper in Beaverton homes, condos, and commercial spaces across Washington County — and since we are in the area regularly, scheduling tends to be straightforward. Learn more about our Beaverton service.

I live in Aloha — is that within your coverage area?

Yes. Aloha in unincorporated Washington County is a regular part of our coverage. Whether you are refreshing a single room or outfitting a commercial space, we bring the same quality and attention to every Aloha project that we deliver across the Portland metro area. See our Aloha service page.
